You read that right - this dish uses Alligator meat, that is stir fryed with some veggies to create a one of a kind taco dish! While shopping in the Wal-Mart one day, I was browsing in the seafood section, where I happened across an item that caught my eye in excitement - Alligator Nuggets! Ever since a trip to New Orleans years ago, I've come to love eating Alligator meat. Not living near to the gulf coast, it isn't a dish I'm able to enjoy very often, so you can imagine my surprise when I saw this item in the seafood section of a grocery store. I decided to dice & stir fry this with some veggies to create Alligator Stir Fry Tacos!
The Alligator Nuggets are a frozen, breaded item, and can be cooked on a stove top or in an air fryer. They can be slightly chewy, when adding to a hand eaten dish like these tacos, so I would reccomend cutting into smaller pieces after cooking
What are some alternatives to the pairings in this dish?
If you're in need of alternatives to the veggie pairings with the alligator meat in this dish, or want to try some other options after trying this one out, I'd reccommend other pairings such as
Another alternative with this dish is to use an Air Fryer for the alligator meat & veggies - this works great as well!
Does this have to be served immediately after cooking? Or can this dish be kept & keep warm for a while to serve after cooking?
This dish can do either! If you wrap each soft taco in aluminum foil and place into an insulated container (a cooler without ice in it), the soft tacos can be kept warm for a few hours. Helpful when taking to a tailgate party after a Saturday Morning Long Run!
Can any of this be prepped ahead of time? (say, the night before a Saturday morning long run)?
A great way to prep ahead of time with this one is to dice up the vegetables you want to use early.
Did you make this dish?
